WRITER/DIRECTOR Muriel d'Ansembourg

Muriel d’Ansembourg is an award winning and BAFTA-nominated writer & director based between Amsterdam and London. She studied Screenwriting in The Netherlands and graduated with Distinction for her Masters in Directing at the London Film School.

The short films she wrote and directed won 26 awards and screened at over 200 film festivals world-wide. Her graduation film Good Night received a BAFTA nomination for Best Short Film followed by a theatrical release in the UK, Germany and Russia. Positive reviews have come from the likes of The Guardian, The Observer, Little White Lies and Time Out calling her work "A standout film", "Unnerving yet transfixing", "Confident directing and astonishing performances” and “A provocative and sensual drama". She was noted as “One To Watch” by Moviescope and Creative Skillset and received mentorship from the Oscar winning director Pawel Pawlikovsky (Ida, Cold War).

She has been a guest speaker and panel member at various institutions including: BAFTA, BFI, National Youth Film Academy and Goldsmith University of London. As well as a jury member at several international film festivals.

Muriel was selected for the Binger Writers Lab 2014/2015 where she worked on her debut feature script Truly Naked under the guidance of script consultant Franz Rodenkirchen. She is currently developing Truly Naked with producer Els Vandevorst (Isabella Films and N279 Entertainment) structured as a UK-Netherlands co-production, which she will go on to direct.
